Terrain Talk #12. Avalanche Problems - A deeper dive.
In my opinion, this is an excellent talk by Dallas Glass, Deputy Director and Forecaster at the Northwest Avalanche Center. If you didn't attend this session live, carve out some time and give it a watch - better to watch as he has a good power point presentation as well.
If you are on the free membership, this is a reminder that you can sign up for one month and binge as many old sessions as you like, then cancel and go back to free. This project takes time, and the money supports that effort, however, I also don't want a financial burden to limit access to talks like this. Dallas talks about the history of how the nine avalanche problems came to be as an almost universal tool in avalanche forecasting in North America, and then digs into the nuance of some of the problems and how to consider traveling in terrain when the problems start to blur between each other.
