Introducing Terrain Talks

Terrain Talks is an avalanche education membership where I provide mentorship from my almost 20 years of working in avalanche terrain and over 30 years of guiding and outdoor recreation experience.

Terrain Talks was born out of my TourMentorship Program where every season I form two groups that meet up monthly to tour together, gaining experience in leadership roles as leaders of the various tours. Each year there would be several people wanting to join this group who could not make the scheduled dates or could not afford the program. Also, quite a few people took the program and wanted to continue the education process that the program offered.

At a minimum Terrain Talks will be a monthly virtual meet-up where I try to bring the same lessons we teach in the field to a wider audience at a more affordable price and on a more flexible schedule. I also plan to add in-person meet-ups, Member Days, Guest Lectures, and more.

Terrain Talks and the membership model also have the potential to make guiding more sustainable for me, and if successful in that way I plan to offer even more services to the members, aka The Flock!
